Description
Mead Cottage and Oak Cottage is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 16th century or earlier and features a main house with a crosswing, along with later additions and alterations. The structure is timber framed and plastered, showcasing a jetty on the first floor of the crosswing and a gable that is supported by shaped brackets. The crosswing extends to the left and includes an additional gabled wing and a porch, which has a 20th-century board door. The roofs are covered with plain red tiles. The building has two storeys, with a window arrangement of 2:4 on the first floor and 1:3 on the ground floor, featuring various small-paned casements. There is a 20th-century glazed porch with a board door leading to the main range. The property is topped with three red brick chimney stacks and has a side purlin roof in the main range.
