Description
Visual and Aural Services Limited is a shop and workshop dating from the mid-16th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with a painted brick front. The building is two storeys high and has a gabled roof covered with peg tiles. The front elevation includes three iron casements with rectangular leaded lights and one casement with small panes. On the ground floor, there are a pair of projecting square bay windows with small panes, connected by a flat hood on shaped brackets, along with a central door that has an arched head. To the right, there is a large square projecting bay with small panes. At the rear, there is a large wall stack behind the western part of the building, which dates from the 17th century. Inside, some of the timber frame is partially exposed, revealing jowled posts, evidence of a former long wall jetty, and a simple crown post roof with down bracing in one truss. The top plates are exposed on the outside, showing halved and bridled scarf joists.
