Description
Thrums is a house dating from the 15th and 17th centuries. It features a timber-framed and plastered construction with external imitation timber framing and prominent straight braces. The roof is gabled and covered with peg tiles, adjoining other buildings. The house has two storeys, with a 20th-century gabled rear extension that is also two storeys high. The front of the house has three double-hung sash windows with moulded surrounds and margin glazing bars, above two similar windows and a central early 19th-century doorcase with a simple pediment. The doorcase contains the original six-panel door with raised and fielded panels. The southern bay includes remnants of a service crosswing from the 15th century or earlier, which has been incorporated into a basic box-framed structure from the mid-17th century.
