Description
Lime Cottage is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a gabled double range and a peg-tile roof. The building has two storeys and includes a later lean-to extension at the rear, which has a white weatherboarded wall.
The front of the house displays two double-hung sash windows with two vertical glazing bars, along with a central plaster roundel. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows and a central four-panel door that is topped by a late 19th-century gabled porch hood, which has pierced bargeboards and a tall finial.
Lime Cottage is a box-framed, two-bay house with an original rear wall stack. Inside, three old internal doors remain, one of which features panelling and old ironwork. Additionally, there is a length of 17th-century fretted balustrade beside the staircase.
