Thatched Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located in Kirby-le-Soken. It features a timber frame with black painted plaster and weatherboarding on the left side. The cottage has a thatched roof with an outshot at the rear and a left external red brick chimney stack. It is a single-storey building with attics and includes a single-storey lean-to extension at the rear left. The front has a three-light casement window on the left and a central halved door with a plain surround. There are two windows on the ground floor of the right return and a single attic window. Inside, the cottage has chamfered bridging joists and beaded edging on the boarded internal walls. It is attractively situated beside a creek and is approached by a bridge.
