Description
Tudor Cottage is a 16th-century cottage located on the south side of Thorpe Road in Kirby Cross. It features a timber frame that is rough rendered and has a red pantiled roof. The building has a central red brick chimney stack and includes a central 20th-century lean-to porch along with a lean-to on the left side. The cottage is one storey high with attics and has two windows in the porch and one window to the left. Inside, part of the heavy timber frame is visible, showcasing chamfered storey posts and stop-chamfered bridging joists. The original stairs are located by the chimney stack, and there are corner and chimney cupboards. The cottage retains original doors with ironmongery, including three and four-board rear doors, one of which features an iron latch with line and dot markings.
