Description

Hill Farmhouse is a house, likely of earlier origin but with an 18th-century facade, and subject to later alterations and additions. It is constructed of painted brick with a red plain tiled roof and parapet verges. The rear of the house features wings. The two-storey main block has a band below the eaves and a five-by-one window range of small-paned vertical sliding sashes. The ground floor window on the right is a three-light bow featuring reeded pilasters, a frieze, and a square patera. A flat-headed porch is supported by circular columns with moulded capitals and plain bases, surmounted by a dentilled cornice. The porch has reveal panels and a moulded surround to the six-panelled door, which itself is topped by ornate tracery over a light. A moulded rainwater head is also present. Windows have moulded shutters and surrounds, with some fireplaces featuring moulded surrounds. Internally, the house has stop-chamfered bridging and ceiling joists, although some of these may not be original to the building.
