Description
The Red Lion Public House is a public house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber-framed structure with a plastered brick facade and a red plain tiled roof, which includes a gabled crosswing on the left side. There are external red brick chimney stacks on the left and off-center right. The building has two storeys and includes three small paned vertically sliding sash windows with segmental heads on the first floor. The ground floor has small paned casements on the left and right, along with a central hipped red tiled porch that has double doors on either side and three small paned casements. Inside, some of the frame is exposed, showcasing heavy bridging joists and wall studs, as well as an 18th-century corner cupboard.
