An internal chimney stack is located at the left end of the building, and a 19th-century external stack sits at the right end. A single-storey extension was added to the left side in the early 19th century and is roofed with handmade red clay tiles.

The cottage is one storey high with attics. On the north-facing front, the ground floor features one 18th-century window with two fixed lights separated by rectangular leading, one 19th-century fixed light with handmade and bullseye glass, and one 19th-century horizontal sash window with twelve panes of crown glass. The first floor has one 19th-century horizontal sash window with twelve panes of crown glass. A plain boarded door with a simple moulded architrave leads into the cottage, and a halved boarded door is located in the left-hand extension.
