Description
Norfolk House is an 18th-century house located on the north-east side of High Street in Thorpe-le-Soken. It is constructed of red and blue brick in header bond, with red brick dressings, and has a roof covered with 20th-century pantiles. The building features a double range plan facing southwest, with a 20th-century extension of one storey over a vehicle entry that is set back. The house is two storeys high and has a five-window range of 18th-century sash windows, each with 12 lights in cased frames, shallow segmental arches, and aprons with guttae made of cut brick below most of the windows. The central door has six fielded panels and two glazed panels, set within a fluted doorcase that includes a triglyph frieze and a moulded shallow canopy. The house is topped with a plain parapet that has a band at its base.
