Description

Hope Bungalow is an 18th-century cottage located on the north side of High Street, Tollesbury. It is timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with a roof of handmade red clay tiles. The cottage has a central chimney stack and two bays facing south. A lean-to extension at the rear has a corrugated asbestos roof. The building is one storey high, with two 19th-century casement windows. A plain boarded door gives access. Inside, there are chamfered transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops, thin joists butt-cogged to them, and primary straight bracing.
