Description
Brook Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The cottage has four bays facing southeast and features an external stack at each end. There is a 19th-century single-storey extension on the left, which also has an external stack at the end. At the rear, there is a 19th or 20th-century lean-to extension made of painted brick and roofed with corrugated iron. The building is one storey with attics and includes two 19th-century casement windows and two 20th-century casement windows in gabled dormers. The entrance has a plain boarded door with a gabled canopy above it, and there is a halved boarded door in the left extension. The cottage has a gambrel roof, and the date 1631 is inscribed in modern plaster on the left gable. Inside, there are chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops.
