Description

Tiptree Chapel is a mid-19th century building constructed from grey brick with red brick dressings. It has a cruciform plan and features a modern pitched roof covered with tiles. The gabled facade includes three entrance doors, with the center doors being larger and set forward, topped by a steeply pitched pediment. The chapel displays lancet arches throughout, with side lights featuring lancet heads. Above the entrance, there is a tripartite window that also has lancet heads. Decorative red brick bands and a red brick arch are present over the upper window. The side windows consist of three lights, each with lancet heads. A circular plaque on the building states: "Goodman's Green Meeting - Tiptree Chapel founded 1664 - built 1750 rebuilt 1864".
