Description

TIPTREE CHURCH ROAD 5214 Windmill

TL 81 NE 15/42 23.6.52 II 2. Five storeyed, red brick tower mill, with weatherboarded cap. Stone over entrance door is inscribed: TGE 1775 and there is another stone: GDER 1836. Two bricks are said to have inscriptions: WS 1774 and ET 1774. Modern casement windows in late C19 openings, Sails and fantail removed, and mill now used as a dwelling.
