Description

Pan in the Wood is a house dating from around 1700, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile gambrel roof. The building is two storeys high and features a two-window range with modern casements that have leaded lights. It has a two-bay plan with a central passage and end chimney stacks. At the rear, there is an early 19th-century lean-to extension. Inside, the first-floor joists are all stop-chamfered, and there is an original fireplace at one end. The roof remains entirely original and includes a diagonal braced ceiling at the side purlin level. Additionally, there are six original doors with their original ironmongery.
