Description
Hempstall's Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier for the rear range, with the front range built in the early 19th century and later altered. The front range is constructed of red brick, while the rear range is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring brick facing on the ground floor. The building has red plain tiled double range roofs, with end chimney stacks on the front range and a central stack on the rear range. It stands two storeys tall and has a parapet with a band underneath. The front features a three-window arrangement of vertically sliding sashes with gauged segmental heads. There is a central doorway flanked by moulded pilasters, topped with a moulded frieze that includes a patera, and a flat canopy above. The doorway has a 20th-century glazed door. Inside the rear range, there are heavy stop-chamfered bridging and ceiling joists.
