Description
Abbott's Hall is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with 18th-century elements and later alterations and additions. It features a timber-framed and plastered rear, while the front range is constructed of red brick in a CLB style. The building has double range roofs covered with red plain tiles and end chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and has a parapet with a band underneath. The front has a five-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, each with gauged brick arches above. The central entrance consists of a four-panel, two-light door topped by a fanlight with ornate semi-circular tracery. The door is flanked by reveal panels and pilasters that have moulded capitals and bases, along with a moulded frieze and paired brackets supporting a flat canopy. The rear range is said to have exposed timberwork and original roof construction.
