Description
Lawford House is a house that has a rear range dating from the 17th century and a front range from the 18th or 19th century. The front range is constructed of gault brick, while the rear range is timber framed with a brick facing. Both sections have hipped grey slate roofs. The front range features a parapet and a seven-window arrangement with small paned vertically sliding sashes, moulded flat lintels, moulded surrounds, and internal shutters. The central entrance consists of double panelled doors, flanked by two pairs of fluted columns with moulded capitals and bases, which rest on a low plinth and support a flat canopy. The lower forward bases of the columns are adorned with a pair of dolphins. The rear range includes a lodged side purlin roof with pegged rafters and has a circular open-well stair that was inserted around 1800.
