Description

This milestone, located on the eastern verge of Southend Road in Rochford, dates back to the 18th century. It has a square plan with a chamfered head. Although the base of the stone is covered, the upper part of the road-facing side displays the inscription "London 40". This milestone is part of a series that includes others located on Hall Road in Rochford.
