Description
No. 22 South Street is a house that has been converted into an estate agents office. It dates from the 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of red brick and features red plain tiled roofs, with a double range to the right and end red brick chimney stacks. The stone coping adorns the parapet and parapet verges.
The house has three storeys and a five-window range of vertically sliding sashes that include horns, moulded stucco surrounds, and moulded cornices on the ground floor. The central doorway is accessed by four steps and is flanked by pilasters with capitals and bases. Above the doorway, there is a frieze and a moulded flat canopy supported by scroll brackets. The entrance features panelled double doors with a fanlight above.
