Description
No. 21 East Street is a house that has been converted into an office. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of brick with a tiled roof. The building features a symmetrical front with a projecting center section, standing three storeys high and having a window arrangement of one, one, and one. The red brick walls are laid in Flemish bond and are topped with dentil eaves. The windows have rubbed flat arches and stone cills, with some sashes set in reveals and a few casements. The entrance is marked by a wooden Corinthian doorcase, which has a cornice that is broken above three-quarter smooth columns, adorned with Adam caps. The arched opening includes a radiating fanlight above a six-panelled door, which is accessed by two stone steps.
