Description
This is a thatched barn built around 1800, located approximately 40 metres east of Stammers Farmhouse in Langford. The barn is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring a thatched roof with red plain tiled valleys. On the left side, there is an outshot that encloses a two-bay cart lodge with a central gabled midstrey. The barn has vertically boarded double doors and consists of five bays. It showcases long arched braces and hanging knees supporting the tie beams, along with a side purlin roof that includes intermittent collars. The top plate has a halved and bladed scarf joint. This barn is a good example of its type and is attractively positioned by the roadside.
