Description

Ricketts Bridge is a bridge over the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation, built around 1797. The engineer was John Rennie, with supervision by Richard Coates. It is constructed of red brick in English bond and features large granite coping stones. The bridge has a single round-headed arch and a band that runs through square end pillars. Ricketts Bridge is one of the five original bridges and is located to the east of Ricketts Lock.
