Description

This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 10 meters southeast of Staithe Farmhouse in Langley with Hardley. The barn is constructed of red brick, which may have replaced an original timber frame. It features a steeply pitched thatched roof. On the east side, there are central double doors, while the west side has two segmental-headed doorways, one of which is blocked. A lean-to is present on the north gable. The interior includes a clasped purlin roof with curved wind bracing to the principals, and the tie beams have had their arch-braces removed. There are struts to the principal rafters on the trusses flanking the threshing floor, along with remains of a timber threshing floor.
