Description

Staithe Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house with later additions, located on the west side of Langley Street, Langley with Hardley. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and flint with a pantiled roof. The house is two storeys high, with a partial cellar. The northern range is taller and features four sash windows with glazing bars, and a platband at the first-floor level. Brick dentil eaves run along the top of this range. An internal chimney stack is located at the north gable. The southern range is lower and has four 2-light casements on the ground floor, and a central six-panel door with the two upper panels glazed. There is a central chimney stack along the ridge line. The south gable has been rendered, and a pantiled lean-to range extends from the south-east corner. A 20th-century two-storey range on the west side is not considered to be of architectural interest.
