Description
This is a 17th-century barn located 50 yards southeast of Roudham Hall. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, topped with a thatched roof. The barn features a long range with two full-height double doors and a flint and brick plinth. There are four evenly spaced windows with glazing bars, which are later additions. The western bays have brick infilling on the interior, also of later date. Inside, the barn has a stone flagged floor, tie beams supported by straight braces, queen posts to collars, and straight braces extending from the tie beams to the lower butt purlins, with clasped purlins above and a thin ridge piece. The western portion of the barn has had a floor inserted, which cuts through the windows.
