Description
The barn at Gosling Hall is a structure dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The barn consists of three bays, and its original frame is intact, featuring full-height studs at the front and back, with side girths at the ends. It has jowled posts and formerly had arch-braced tie beams, which now have hanging knees. The roof is supported by a crown post that is single braced to the tie beams, and the top plate has halved and bridled scarfs.
