Description

This barn, located approximately 40 metres northwest of Bower Hall, dates from the late 15th century to the early 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring a combination of weatherboarding and brick infill, and has a central doorway. The roof is made of corrugated iron and the barn consists of four bays. The walls exhibit halved bracing, and some of the original crown post roof structure remains, including two-armed down bracing to the tie beams. Additionally, there are large arched braces connecting the tie beams to the storey posts. The barn is mentioned in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments volume 3.
