House. Late C15 and earlier, timber framed and plastered with red plain tile roofs. 2 storeys. 3 window range C20 casements and C19 vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars and sidelights. Early C19 gabled wing at west end, with single storey C19 canted bay with vertical sliding sashes. Gabled porch to left. C16 staircase tower. C17 and C18 rear wings. Right front formerly jettied now underbuilt. Red brick chimney stacks. Central one inscribed 1547. Internally are 2 brick arched fireplaces and large timber mantelled inglenook all of C16. Moulded bridging joists, jowled storey posts, original ovolo mullioned windows, and C16 tiled floor. Early C19 range has original staircase with wreathed handrail and early C19 details throughout including doors, architraves, skirtings etc. C18 rear bay window, and one C18 fire surround. Original C16 door on first floor. C15 arch braced to collar roof, and later arch braced to side purlin roofs. Moated site. (RCHM 4).
