Description
The barn immediately north of Gossington Hall is a large structure, with part of it now serving as a dwelling. It was probably built around 1695 and features a brick construction with a stone slate hipped roof. The barn has a U-shaped plan, with the house located in the west wing and a pigeon loft in the east wing.
On the south side, there is a wide carriage opening with a segmental arch, while the opening on the opposite side has been blocked. The building has a coved wooden eaves cornice running throughout. Flanking the carriage opening are three tall and three smaller window slots on each side. The original roof structure remains intact, featuring collars and ties without struts. The architectural details suggest that the barn was constructed at the same time as the main house.
