Description
Old Hurst Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of brick, featuring an eaves cornice and a tile roof with alternating plain and fish-scale tiles arranged in groups of four courses. The building has a parallel range with two large gable stacks on the right and two smaller gable stacks on the left. It stands two storeys high with attics and has five windows, which are sash windows without bars and have broad surrounds that sit flush with the wall. The central entrance boasts a six-panel door, four of which are glazed, set within a brick gabled porch that has an arched opening with stone voussoirs. In the right gable, there is a two-light casement window with leading under a wooden lintel, as well as one cross transom and mullion light beneath a segmental arch. On the right (north) return, there is a plain door situated under a three-pane transom light within a broad frame.
