Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Primrose Cottages are a pair of cottages located in Duck End, Finchingsfield, dating from the 18th century or earlier. They are constructed with a timber frame, plastered exterior, and feature a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The cottages have four bays facing southeast and include an axial stack in the second bay from the right. They are one storey high with attics. The ground floor has three 20th-century casement windows, while the gabled dormers feature two 18th-century three-light windows, each with one wrought iron casement and rectangular leaded panes. There are two 20th-century doors; No. 1, on the left, has a 20th-century timber-framed gabled porch, while No. 2, on the right, has a trellised rustic porch. The cottages are listed for their group value.
