Description
Nos. 2 and 4 Church Road are a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century, constructed with a timber frame and clad in colourwashed roughcast render. The roofs are covered with clay tiles. The original layout comprised three rooms, with a single storey and attic, though the building was extended in the 20th century by one bay to the right. The front elevation features three two-light casement windows on the ground floor, and four gabled dormers, each with a two-light casement window, to the attic, most of which have leaded lights. There are two 20th-century doors, each protected by an open-hipped porch. A red brick integral stack is located on the left-hand gable, and a brick multiple ridge stack sits at the junction of the two properties. The right-hand 20th-century extension incorporates a garage door at ground floor level. The cottages are included on the list for their group value.
