Description
Nos. 1 and 3 Orchard Way are a pair of cottages dated 1839, likely incorporating an older building. They feature a timber frame with brick infill and a brick plinth, topped with an old tile roof. The cottages have flanking and central brick chimneys, each with two square shafts set diagonally on offset bases. The buildings are one and a half storeys tall and have four symmetrical bays, with the outer bays being lower and slightly set back. The ground floor front of the outer bays has barred wooden single lights, while the inner bays have barred wooden casements, with a three-light window on the ground floor and two-light windows in gabled semi-dormers, along with flanking boarded doors. The rear of the centre bays features paired leaded casements, one of which has been altered. There are small 20th-century extensions at the rear.
