Description

No. 20, High Street is a house dating from the 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the 19th century. The exterior is colourwashed roughcast, partially concealing a timber-framed structure, and it has clay tile roofs. The building follows a T-shaped plan, with the northern part of the main block raised in the 19th century and featuring a shallower roofline. The west elevation has sash windows on the ground and first floors, and a box dormer with a two-light casement window in the attic. A red brick multiple ridge stack is visible. The south elevation’s left-hand gable has a ground floor canted bay with casement windows; the first and attic floors have casement windows. A rear block includes a hipped porch within an angle, a casement window above it, and sash windows on the ground and first floors to the right.
