Description

No. 22 Lotfield Street is a house dating from the mid-16th century, with a 20th-century extension. It features a timber frame with exposed and rendered infill, and has a modern tiled roof with a brick and clunch side stack. The grouped shafts are set diagonally. The building was originally designed as a two-bay parlour crosswing to an open hall. It has two storeys and an attic, with the first floor jettied at both ends. The studwork is close set and uniform, with shallow downward wall bracing. The jetty beam is supported by exposed joists, and there is one window on each storey.
