Description
This is a 17th-century cottage located on Lotfield Street, Orwell. The original structure is timber framed and has been rendered with plaster and covered with a reed thatched roof, which is half-hipped at the east end. A rebuilt brick stack is present. The south-west side of the cottage features a modern casement window on each floor. A doorway is positioned within an open-sided thatched porch. A brick addition or rebuild, with pantiled roofing, extends to the west end, and is single-storey in height. Inside, the cottage retains an inglenook hearth and a spine beam with ovolo-moulded run-out stops.
