Description

This is an early to mid-17th century cottage located on Lotfield Street, Orwell. The building is timber-framed and has a plaster rendered exterior. The roof was originally half-hipped but is now covered with asbestos. A substantial original red brick stack with grouped shafts set diagonally remains. The cottage follows a three-bay, lobby-entry plan and has one storey with an attic space; two gable dormers are present. The windows are in flush frames and are late 20th-century casements. The doorway is in its original location, opposite the lobby. The interior has not been inspected.
