Description
No. 74 Eldernell Lane is a lodge built around the mid-19th century, with a 20th-century extension. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a thatched roof with hipped and gabled sections, adorned with pierced wavy bargeboards, a pendant, and a finial on the gable. It has painted brick axial stacks topped with octagonal shafts. The lodge has an L-shaped plan with a crosswing on the left and an integral outshut at the rear.
The exterior is a single storey with an asymmetrical two-window southwest front. On the left, there is a projecting gabled wing that includes a three-light casement window, while a two-light casement window is on the right. Both windows have glazing bars and are set in brick arch openings, along with a central doorway featuring a plank door and cover moulds. A similar three-light casement window is located on the southeast return. At the rear, the roof extends over the outshut, leading to the single-storey 20th-century extension on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
