Description
No. 12 Church Street is a lodge that has been converted into a house. It was built in the early 19th century and has undergone some later alterations. The building is made of painted red brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof with wide eaves and brick ridge stacks. It stands two storeys high and has two bays. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door, which is flanked by 20th-century small pane casements. There is a continuous band at lintel level that breaks to form a semicircular arch over each opening. Above the door and casements are two similar 20th-century windows with projecting sills and plain lintels. The elevations on the north and south sides are similar. This building was originally constructed as a lodge for Alfreton Hall.
