Description

This is a pigeon cote dating from the early 19th century, located to the east of the former stable block of Alfreton Hall. It is constructed of red brick with brick dressings and features a pyramidal graduated slate roof, which has lead flashings and a ball finial above a dentilled eaves band. The structure is two storeys high, with a single bay and a square plan. It has a plinth, and the west and east sides are adorned with tall segmental arches, although the arch on the west side is now blocked. There are rounded headed openings above on the west and south sides. Inside, the first floor is lined with brick pigeon holes. Additions to the north and west are not included in the listing.
