Description
This is an 18th and 19th century cottage located to the rear of number 91 in Coates, Whittlesey. Originally constructed with claylump, the exterior walls were later replaced with late 18th and 19th century callow brick, with part of the façade now painted and one gable end rendered. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped design to one end and a stack at each end. The cottage was originally three bays wide, with a lobby entry plan, though the bay on the left-hand side was previously a separate dwelling and a bay on the right-hand side has been removed. It has one storey and an attic, with two dormers, one featuring a sixteen-pane hung sash window. A boarded door leads to the lobby entry; there are two further doorways and two three-light casement windows. The interior includes 19th century fireplaces in the central room and the parlour on the right-hand side.
