Description
27 and 28 Market Place are an early 18th century pair of shops located on the west side of Wisbech Market Place. They are constructed of local brown brick with red brick dressings and rise to three storeys. The buildings feature a panelled brick parapet with stone coping, a moulded cornice, and brick bands between the floors. There are seven bays, with flush framed hung sash windows set in segmental red gauged brick arches and red brick jambs. The second floor windows are smaller than those on the first floor. No. 27 has windows without glazing bars, while No. 28 retains complete glazing bars with twelve-paned windows. The ground floor has been altered to accommodate two modern shops.
