Description

29 Market Place is a late 18th-century shop located in Wisbech Market Place. The building is constructed of local brown brick and features a red pantile roof with a stack on the right side. It has a shallow parapet with stone coping and stands three storeys tall with one bay. The façade includes two sixteen-paned recessed hung sash windows set in cambered, gauged red brick arches, with brick bands between the floors. The ground floor has a modern shopfront. In the semi-basement, there are remains of a three-bayed medieval vault, although two bays were destroyed when the shop floor was lowered. One bay remains intact, showcasing moulded ribs that spring from stone corbels with a finely carved central boss.
