Description

Clifton Bury Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier, with significant alterations made to the front in the late 19th century. The original structure is timber framed, featuring a pebbledash render on the real elevation, while the south elevation is encased in brick. The front additions are made of yellow brick. The earlier parts of the building have clay tile roofs, whereas the front has slate roofs.

The farmhouse consists of a three-room plan, two storeys high with attics, and includes a one-storey outbuilding with a basement that projects to the north. The rear elevation displays a variety of windows, including some sash windows with glazing bars, and the attic features three hipped dormers with casement windows. There are later lean-to additions on the left-hand side. A 19th-century panelled door is set in a timber gabled open porch. The front elevation has two projecting gables, each two storeys high with attics, and two-storey rectangular bays, all fitted with sash windows.

The outbuilding has a red brick basement and timber framing with brick infill in the upper part, featuring plank doors for both the basement and upper section, along with a casement window in the basement.
