Description
Abbotts Hall Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier, with alterations and additions made in the 19th century. The building is timber framed and has pebble dash plastering, with a weatherboarded return. It features a red plain tiled roof and stands two storeys high. The south face of the house has right and left external chimney stacks and a three-window range of vertically sliding sashes. There is a central six-panel door with a simple surround, a flat canopy, and a trellised porch topped with a semi-circular tent hood.
On the north face, there is a gabled crosswing to the right, and the left side has a grey slate roof that is hipped to the right. This side features a two-to-one window range of two or three-light casements with pentice boards. There are also two four-panelled doors with simple surrounds and flat canopies supported by brackets.
Internally, the farmhouse was empty at the time of resurvey, but visible features included an 18th-century corner cupboard, boxed in bridging joists, moulded wainscots, and a stick baluster staircase.
