Description
Myrtle Cottage is a cottage with origins in the 15th century, featuring alterations and additions from the 17th century and later. It has a timber frame with plaster and a red plain tiled roof. The cottage has an off-centre right red brick chimney stack and was undergoing restoration at the time of the last survey. It includes two gabled dormers, is one storey high with attics, and has a dormer at the rear. The front has a three-window range of small paned casements. There is a 20th-century open gabled porch with a vertically boarded door and a simple surround. A date inscription of 1738 can be found on the rear dormer. Inside, there is evidence of the original open hall, which features a substantial studded and braced partition.
