Description

Ruckins Farmhouse is a house dating to the 16th or 17th century, or possibly earlier, with alterations and additions made in the 18th century and later. The house is timber-framed and plastered, featuring a half-hipped gambrel roof covered in red plain tiles. It is two storeys high with attics. A central plastered chimney stack is present. The front facade has a three-window range of small-paned casement windows, with those on the ground floor within a full-width red tiled porch. A 20th-century door is centrally located. The original heavy wall studs and side girts are visible on either side of the doorway, with the side girts remaining in place behind the bay windows.
