Description

The Grange is a house dating to the 16th and 17th centuries, significantly restored in the 20th century. It comprises a north-west wing constructed of timber frame with red brick infill and a clay tile roof, and an east wing with colourwashed roughcast render and a hipped clay tile roof. The building forms an L-shape, with two storeys. Throughout the house are 20th-century casement windows with diamond-leaded lights. The north-west block has plank doors with sloping roofed hoods on both the north and south elevations. There are two brick ridge stacks. The east wing has undergone considerable alteration, including small flat-roofed additions to the east, a bow window to the south, and French windows to the east. A substantial red brick chimney stack is located to the north.
