Description
Clifton Farmhouse is an early 17th century house. It is timber framed with red brick infill, largely covered with pebbledash render. The roofs are tiled with clay. The house has an H-plan, with a left-hand cross-wing slightly lower than the rest. Most of the windows are from the 19th century, although a two-light horizontal sash window is present on the first floor of the central block. The central block features a six-panel door, with the upper pair of panels glazed, set within a moulded surround and a gabled hood. A substantial red brick ridge stack is visible on the central block, with a three-stage brick stack on the side elevation of the left-hand cross-wing. A single-storeyed outbuilding projects from the north wing, and a lean-to conservatory is attached to the main block on the rear elevation.
